Have an idea that would make SwitchDin work better for you? Use our feature request form to tell us about it. Every request goes to our Product team and helps shape what we build next.
Support request or feature request?
Before you start, check which type of request fits your situation.
Submit a support request when something isn't working as expected. For example:
- An Edge Controller is offline or a device has stopped reporting
- You can't log in to Stormcloud or can't see a site
- A battery isn't charging or discharging as it should
- You have a question about how an existing feature works
Submit a feature request when everything is working, but you'd like SwitchDin to do something it doesn't do today. For example:
- A new report, dashboard view or data export
- A change to how an existing feature behaves
- A new setting, control option or workflow
- An improvement that would save your team time
In short, a support request fixes a problem, and a feature request suggests an improvement.
If you're not sure which one to use, submit a support request and we'll point you in the right direction.
If you want SwitchDin to support a new inverter, battery, meter or other device, use the Device Integration Request form instead.
How to submit a feature request
- Open the Request a Feature form.
- Fill in the fields:
- Subject: a short title for your idea, for example "Export site data to CSV".
- Description: what you'd like the feature to do.
- Company / organisation: the organisation you're requesting it for.
- Why do you need this feature?: the problem or limitation you're running into today, and how you work around it now.
- What would be the main benefit?: pick the closest option, such as saving time, improving reliability, reducing costs or meeting compliance requirements.
- How important is this feature to your organisation?: choose Critical, Important or Nice to have.
- Additional details (optional): any sites, devices, deadlines or examples that help explain your request.
- Click Submit.
Tips for a great request
- Focus on the problem, not only the solution. Knowing why you need something helps us find the best way to deliver it.
- Submit one idea per request so each one can be reviewed and tracked on its own.
- Real examples, screenshots or site names help a lot.
What happens next?
Our Product team reviews every feature request. We can't promise every idea will be built, but each one is considered when we plan future improvements, and we'll contact you if we need more information.
