The Ethernet cable is a critical connection for your Droplet ONE.
It provides network access for your Droplet ONE and, sometimes to your inverter as well.
Please note that unplugging the Ethernet cable is generally safe, does not require to power off your entire site or unit, and will take just a few seconds to complete.
This article guides you through the process no matter if you use a Droplet ONE with a plastic case (left) or a steel case (right) model.
Follow these steps to ensure a safe and hassle-free disconnection:
Step 1: Unplug the Droplet ONE from its Power Supply
Please note that you do not need to trip off your site before unplugging your Droplet ONE from its power supply.
Step 2: Locate the Ethernet Port
The Ethernet port is typically on the side of the Droplet ONE case, easily identifiable by the connected Ethernet cable.
Step 3: Hold the Ethernet Cable
Gently grasp the connector at the end of the Ethernet cable. Avoid pulling on the cable itself to prevent damage.
Look for the clip on the underside of the Ethernet connector. This small plastic tab secures the cable in place.
Step 4: Release the Connector
Press down on the clip to unlock the Ethernet connector from the port.
Step 5: Carefully Remove the Cable
While holding the clip down, gently pull the Ethernet connector straight out of the port. Avoid twisting or yanking to prevent damage to the Droplet ONE’s port or the cable.
Step 6: Store or Reconnect as Needed
If you're storing the cable, coil it neatly to prevent tangling. If reconnecting later, ensure both ends are free from dust or debris.
By following these steps, you can safely unplug the Ethernet cable without causing harm to your Droplet ONE or the cable itself.
