Replacing the SD card on a Droplet is a quick, straightforward process.
The Droplet is a small voltage communication device, so you do NOT need to turn off the electricity in your home to complete this process.
The SD Card Repair Kit at a Glance
The repair kit is inside the envelope posted to you.
The kit contains a letter with a QR code so you can access the step-by-step instructions. Most importantly, it contains an SD Card which will replace the existing SD card in the Droplet. Note: You only need the small SD card, you do not need the adapter (larger card in the plastic case).
The process to locate the card will vary slightly depending on your Droplet model (plastic or steel case). Follow the next steps to complete the process, it should take less than 5 minutes.

Here’s a step-by-step guide.
1) Locating the Droplet:
In approximately 90% of installations, the SwitchDin Droplet is installed inside the house and connected to your internet router via an Ethernet cable. To locate it, trace the Ethernet cables coming out of your router — one of them should be plugged into the SwitchDin Droplet..
2) Disconnect the power and ethernet cables connected to the Droplet.
Ensure your Droplet is powered off and unplugged from any power source (no lights lit up, and no cables attached).
Tip! Before you unplug the cables, take a picture of anything connected to the Droplet (such as USB adapter or ethernet/LAN cables) as you will need to reconnect them again in the last step.
3) Locate the SD Card Slot
4) Remove the Old SD Card
Gently push the SD card inwards.
The card should pop out slightly, allowing you to pull it out completely using your fingers.
Tip! If removing it with just your fingers is difficult, you can use a pair of tweezers to grab the edge of the card and remove it.
5) Insert the New SD Card
Take your new SD card and insert it into the slot, ensuring the metal contacts are facing the board.
Push it in until you hear a click, indicating it’s securely in place.
6) Plug the Cables Back In
If using a wired internet connection, plug your LAN cable into the Ethernet port the same way it was before you unplugged it (reference the photo you took previously for help).
Ensure you plug in everything you disconnected in Step 1 such as USB and ethernet cables.
Plug the Droplet’s power cable back in and into the power source
Turn it on.
Wait approximately five minutes for the Droplet to reboot itself. You should see most of the LED lights on the Droplet lit up once it is reconnected.
