Here are the definitions of ach state a unit can have in Stormcloud:
Not Configured means the unit has associated droplet or device. The unit will not count towards the subscription fee,
Active means 1 or more droplets and devices or cloud connected devices are added to unit. The customer will be billed per kW of connected DER or unit (depending on contract). The unit will remain in active state if droplets / devices are removed or even if droplet or device loses comms. This means the subscription is billed to the organisation that has purchased the subscriotion for telemetry and control.
Pending Activation is a transitional state after hitting activate/ deactivate button. If the droplet in the unit is online, this should stop being pending within 24 hours. If the droplet is offline, it will stop being pending when it comes back online.
Inactive In this state, Stormcloud stops storing telemetry and does not send any commands to associated droplets or cloud connected devices. The unit is billed to the customer, the same as active.
Pending Deactivation is a transitional state after hitting activate/ deactivate button. If the droplet in the unit is online, this should stop being pending within 24 hours. If the droplet is offline, it will stop being pending when it comes back online.
Deleted Tombstone state that’s a record of a unit that has been deleted. This state is needed to help billing reconciliation as the unit should not be billed anymore.
