Several factors can limit the total number of inverters you are able to connect to a single Droplet.

1) The number of available USB ports: a Droplet ONE has 4 USP ports available, a Droplet PLUS (since June 2023) has 3 USB ports available.

2) The capacity to daisy chain inverters: this will depend on the brand and model, please consult the OEM first. SwitchDin will connect to the Master inverter as you daisy chain Slaves to the Master. Ensure all inverters are connected to the same network and subnet to ensure the Droplet discovers them all during the commissioning with the Stormcloud application.

3) With a Droplet Plus, you can also directly wire an inverter to the available Ethernet ports (a DHCP server would need to be set up by our Support team)

4) The number of data points and publish rate the Droplet can buffer.

We have had customers with up to 10 inverters connected to a single Droplet so far.
