We need to differentiate connection to the Internet to synchronise your Droplet with Stormcloud application on the cloud, from connection to the DER on site.
For Internet connection on a Droplet ONE, you have two options.
Option 1: Connect to the local WiFi through the Stormcloud app
Option 2: Wire your Droplet with the customer's router using the Ethernet port
For connection to a DER on a Droplet ONE, you also have two options.
Option 1: Wire to the local inverter using any available USB port and a USB/ETH adaptor
Option 2: Wire your Droplet with the inverter using the Ethernet port. You will need to contact us so we setup the Ethernet port to DHCP server.
Please note we do not encourage this second option option as we would not be able to directly wire the Droplet with the router for troubleshooting purpose. This means that if the WiFi signal is weak or lost, we would not be able to support you remotely.
