Fleet Manager lets you control who in your organisation can see and do what.
How access is organised
Access is set at three levels:
How access is organised
Access is set at three levels:
- Organisation: your whole company
- Collection: a group of units within your organisation
- Unit: a single site or device
A permission given at a higher level automatically applies to everything below it. For example, if someone has access to your organisation, they also have access to every collection and unit inside it.
This means you can give someone access to your whole fleet, to just one collection, or to a single unit.
The three roles
Every user is given one of these roles:

The three roles
Every user is given one of these roles:
- Viewer: can view information but cannot make changes
- Operator: can control devices and change configuration
- Admin: has full access, including managing other users’ access
What a permission is
A permission is made of three things:
A permission is made of three things:
- A user
- A role (Viewer, Operator or Admin)
- A level (organisation, collection or unit)
For example, “Sam is a Viewer on the Brisbane collection” means Sam can view every unit in that collection and nothing outside it.
Organisation admins manage their own users
Your organisation admin will be set up with an admin user. Your admin can then manage access for the rest of your team, including adding users and choosing their roles and the collections or units they can access. You don’t need to contact support each time someone joins or leaves your team.
If you don’t know who your organisation admin is, or need to change who it is, please contact our support team.
Checking who has access (requires Admin permissions)
You need to be an Admin to see the User Permissions page. If you can’t see it, ask your organisation admin.
