When commissioning a new SwitchDin Droplet (SGD), you’ll normally scan the QR code on the product label to quickly register it in the SwitchDin App.
If you can’t locate the QR code, follow the steps below.
1. Check the Box First
SwitchDin places the SGD’s label — including its Serial Number (Endpoint ID in the SwitchDin App) — on the outside of the SGD box.
We strongly recommend keeping the box until you have successfully finished commissioning.
This ensures you can always scan the code if needed.
2. If You’ve Lost the Box
If the box is no longer available, you’ll need to manually enter the SGD serial number instead of scanning.
You can find the Serial Number / ID:
On the back of the SGD itself.
Displayed as ETH2 on the device label.
Example format:
0001c036ade5
You can enter the SGD serial number manually by following the next two steps:
1- On the installer section select Enter Code Manually
2- Once you select the Enter code manually option then key in the SGD serial number example : 0001c036ade5
3. Tips to Avoid Issues
Double-check characters — the ID contains both numbers and letters. Mixing up “0” (zero) and “O” (letter O) is a common mistake.
Keep a photo of the label on your phone as a backup before you start installation.
