Control Groups are used to enroll multiple Dispatchable Energy Resources into a single controllable asset pool. This allows the VPP operator to manage groups of DERs as if they were a single asset.

Prerequisites

- Install and commission the droplet onto the desired site. Once online.
- Add the Generic DRM Controller to the unit. You need Controller Bundle permission onto the Unit/Portfolio to enable this.

- Communicate the unit name to the VPP Administrator

Add the unit to a VPP Control Group

Step 1:
Sign into Stormcloud and hit the Virtual Power Plants section of the menu in Stormcloud (provided you have VPP Operator/Administrator permission)

Step 2:
Hit Settings in the bottom bar of your screen

Step 3:
Click on the Group tab and hot the green Edit icon in front of the VPP Control Group

Step 4:
Type the Unit name in the filter 'Control group unit devices' and tick the first box 

Ensure you save by hitting the 'Update Control Group'
