There are two versions of the SGD:
Version 1 – Features two antenna ports: WLAN-A/BT and WLAN-B (Older version)
Version 2 – Features four antenna ports: WWAN, AUX, WLAN-A/BT, and WLAN-B, (newer version)
This instruction sheet demonstrates how to complete the physical setup/installation of the
SGD when an Ethernet connection to the inverter is possible.
Mount the SGD on DIN Rail (with the pre-fitted DIN Rail mounting bracket).
Connect the Ethernet cable (CAT6) from the inverter to the SGD ETH1 port as shown.
You can use the ETH2 port for internet connectivity; however, please contact our technical support team to configure and confirm this setup for all SGD units installed before November 2025.
Call (02) 4786 0426 or email support@switchdin.comConnect the USB-Ethernet adapter to USB Port 3 as shown (if this is being used for
Internet connectivity via the customer’s internet connection).-
For the older SGD model with only two antenna ports, connect the main 4G antenna (large, male) to the WLAN-B port (female), and connect the smaller antenna (female) to the WLAN-A/BT port (male).

For the new SGD version with four antenna ports, the two WLAN ports (WLAN-A/BT and WLAN-B) are used for Wi-Fi connections, while the WWAN ports are used for SIM card and 4G connectivity. Connect the larger antenna (male) to the WWAN port (female), and connect the smaller antennas (female) to the WLAN-A/BT and WLAN-B ports (male). The AUX port does not need to be connected. Please make sure the antennas are connected for the 4G to work.
Connect the power supply to the DC IN port on the SGD, and connect to a General Purpose Outlet (GPO)
If the SGD has not turned on, which is indicated by (power button LED should be soild green if turned on) power cycle the device by disconnecting the power supply from the droplet, waiting 10s, reconnecting the power supply, and then pressing the power button
