The PKI service, developed by SwitchDin in collaboration with DigiCert, provides a crucial Public Key Infrastructure for Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs) in Australia. 

Its primary goal is to support the implementation of Emergency Backstop mechanisms for Consumer Energy Resources (CER) in line with the CSIP-AUS (Common Smart Inverter Profile – Australia) and IEEE 2030.5 2018 standards. 

This solution facilitates a shared Smart Energy Root CA (SERCA) and related PKI processes, aligning with the national PKI concepts envisioned for the National Energy PKI (NEPKI) and offering a smooth transition path until the NEPKI is fully operational. 

The design and processes are also informed by the Australian Government's Gatekeeper Public Key Infrastructure Framework.
