At SwitchDin, we are committed to providing greater flexibility and functionality for managing your fleets of Distributed Energy Resources (DER). We’re excited to announce the upcoming introduction of Collections - a powerful new way to organise your Units in Stormcloud.

Why Collections
As an Organisation Administrator today, you need a way to group and manage Units in Stormcloud independently from the Portfolios that installers choose when commissioning those Units. Collections provide that flexibility.

What Collections are
Collections allow Organisation Administrators to group Units independently of the Portfolio they were originally assigned to by an installer.

You’ll find the Collections feature directly within Stormcloud Menu under the Unit List.

What You Can Do with Collections

• Create, modify, and delete Collections.
• Move single or bulk Units into Collections.
• Filter the Unit List by Collection for easier navigation and management.

What the Default Collection is
The Default Collection is the initial location where all new Units will be assigned. You can rename and update the description of the Default Collection, but it will always remain the system default.
If a Collection is deleted, any Units within it will automatically return to the Default Collection.

Key Details

• How many Units can be in a Collection?
   There’s no limit — you can add as many Units as you like.
• How many Collections can a Unit belong to?
   Each Unit can belong to only one Collection at a time.

What’s Next for Collections
Collections are the first in a series of upcoming updates designed to give Organisation Administrators even greater control over fleet management and configuration. In future releases, Collections will also enable bulk and automated configuration of Units and their connected Droplets.

What You Need to Know
Starting 12 March 2025, Collections will be available to all Organisation Administrators in Stormcloud.
