Fleet managers can remotely suspend operations with a unit and disable telemetry and control.
Should your customer agreement come to an end, you can also delete the unit, as every unit counts towards your Stormcloud subscription fees.
Note:
- Deactivating a unit will disconnect telemetry and control, and keep all historical data accessible from Stormcloud.
- Deleting a unit additionally removes access to any historical data from Stormcloud.
- Only fleet managers with an ‘Org Admin’ permission can deactivate and delete units.
The option is found under Unit Settings in Stormcloud.
Deactivate: Hitting this button transitions the unit to an inactive state which. This disables instantly all telemetry and control. Historical data will still be available. You can re-activate the unit at any time. Useful if you need to temporarily suspend operation of the unit. You can re-enroll the customer in a future program.
Delete: This renders the unit inaccessible and it will no longer count towards your subscription fees. Our Customer Success team will only be able to retrieve any data if it has not already been purged from out system
Note: the unit will enter a pending state until the deactivating or reactivating process is complete on all droplets associated with the unit. This will occur if there are any communication issues with the droplet. If the droplet is offline, it may take up to 24 hours for it to be activated/deactivated after coming online again.
