To troubleshoot the configuration of your inverter without a truck rook, your SwitchDin droplet is able to tunnel into the web server of your inverter. This is handy to run a first diagnosis and modify setups. Certain actions can be performed remotely, like power cycling inverters.
What does this mean?
- The Droplet is able to curl back the webserver port on a configured device.
- This provides functionality to tunnel via both port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS).
Prerequisites
- You need Installer (and up, ie controller bundle) access level in Stormcloud
- This feature requires appropriate user account permissions - contact SwitchDin support.
- Only available for devices that are successfully configured with the Droplet using the installer app.
- The actual port & availability depends on the device, and not on the Droplet.
- Only available using the web interface - https://pwa.switchdin.com/
- Firefox browser preferred
Step 1: Navigate to Equipment tab within the Unit
Step 2: Click on Tunnels tab
Step 3: Click on 'Create' to start a new tunnel
Step 4: Select device to tunnel from the dropdown
Step 5: Confirm the port and click on 'Create new tunnel'
Step 6: Confirm tunnel is created & click on device to open in a new tab
Example: Fronius web server landing page accessed remotely
Step 7: To close the tunnel, click STOP
Step 8: Click ‘yes’ and confirm tunnel is closed successfully
